| Disk
Storage Space |
|
Disk storage space refers to the amount of server disk storage specifically allocated to your account. This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio and video clips, POP mail messages, and other files that make up your web site.
Each of our Web Hosting plans includes a specified amount of disk storage space (see Plans and Prices), but additional space can be purchased for any account (see Optional Features).

| Data
Transfer |
|
In general, any outward bound traffic from a web site, with the exception of e-mail, is considered to be data transfer. For example, each time a web page, image, audio file, video file, etc. is loaded, data transfer is generated. Each of our plans includes a generous amount of free data transfer which should be more than enough for most sites. In fact, our experience has shown that 2000MB/month will be more than enough bandwidth for the average web site. Depending on the quantity and sizes of your files, this could support many thousands of hits per month.

| Mail
Forwarding (redirecting mail) |
|
By default, all e-mail addressed to you@your_domain.com will forward to your real e-mail address provided by your local Internet service provider. This way you can receive all e-mail addressed to your domain such as sales@yourname.com, support@yourname.com, etc. For convenience, specific mail forwarding options are available if you need specific addresses each to be forwarded to different addresses on the Internet. For example, e-mail addressed to sales@yourname.com could forward to an account at America Online and support@yourname.com could forward to an account at Prodigy, or, if you have more than one account associated with a domain you can have your primary account set up to get sales, another account would get support and a third account would get everything else.

| POP3
Accounts |
|
In addition to mail forwarding, users have the option of retrieving e-mail directly from the POP (Post Office Protocol 3) server where e-mail is actually stored. Each of our plans includes a specified number of POP accounts (see Plans and Prices). The additional POPs can be assigned unique identifications and passwords to enhance privacy. You can also purchase additional POPs if needed.

| Autoresponders/Infobots |
|
These are simple text files you place in your domain space. When email is sent to your domain with the name of one of these files, the information is automatically returned to the sender of the email. For a working demo and instructions on using, send any note to infobots@axisone.net and the mail system will automatically return the info to you at the email address you sent the request from.

| Statistics |
|
This built-in analysis program provides traffic statistics that help you plan and manage your Web site. It generates web pages which include graphical representations of the amount of hits that you have received both in the past week and over time. These detailed statistics can show you who, how, what, and why people are looking at your web pages. In addition, we give you direct access to your raw log files so you can analyze your statistics with other more full-featured programs.

Server Side Includes |
|
SSI or Server-Side-Includes, allow the server to parse special page commands. As an example, if you had a footer you wanted on all your pages that may change from time to time, you can create a text file with the desired footer and place it in your domain. On each page you put a simple SSI directive to read that file and place it at the bottom of the desired pages.

CGI Script Support |
|
All Web Hosted customers have access to a personal cgi-local directory in which users can place their own custom CGI scripts. CGI scripts are often used to accomplish tasks which are not supported by HTML such as a hit counter or form processing. The cgi-local directory can be used to set up scripts that you write or find elsewhere on the web. We offer pre-configured scripts, available free for your use. These include a text-based hit counter, a graphical counter, form
mailer, random image/sound script, and more.

Anonymous FTP Access |
|
Enabling anonymous FTP allows visitors to upload and/or download files without a unique id and password. This area is necessarily a safe area, separate from your web data for obvious reasons.

SSL Secure Server |
|
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) allows users to collect data such as credit card information in a secure environment. Information submitted via a secure form sent to the server in an encrypted mode. We use the advanced Apache-SSL program with 128 key PNP encryption. This offers unbreakable security for international customers as well as North American customers. Users may choose to research methods such as encrypted email (PGP), CyberCash, or other solution for retrieving such information from their web sites.

Shopping Cart |
|
A Shopping Cart program allows you to implement your own on-line storefront. The shopping cart keeps track of what visitors have ordered and allows them to add or remove items from a 'virtual shopping cart'. When a visitor decides to check-out, the order information including the buyer's name, address and billing instructions are e-mailed to the site webmaster and a receipt is sent to the shopper. Our Shopping Cart script can be customized for your use.

Midi File Support |
|
MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface and has been the rage among electronic musicians throughout its existence. It is a powerful tool for composers and teachers alike. It allows musicians to be more creative on stage and in the studio. It allows composers to write music that no human could ever perform. But it is NOT a tangible object, a thing to be had. MIDI is a communications protocol that allows electronic musical instruments to interact with each other.
